Attention Patrons and Friends of Riverside Arts Center:
The long awaited project to construct an elevator and stair connector between our two buildings has begun!
From July 1st thru December 1st we will be in "excuse our dust" mode.
All scheduled events will take place and the public should encounter little to detract from their Riverside experience.

On top of our current elevator project we have been informed of two other grant awards.
One from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to refurbish the facade of our Off-Center
and another from the Michigan Council for the Arts & Cultural Affairs to enlarge our theatre lobby
and provide other amenities.

We hope you are as excited as we are as we enable more space to be used for the arts in downtown Ypsilanti.

MCRT presents
Both Your Houses
by Maxwell Anderson

Both Your Houses is a political satire that is as relevant today as it was when it was first performed in 1933. An idealistic young congressman, Alan McClean, takes the surprising position of opposing a bill that provides money for a huge construction project in his own district. Though his fight will probably cost him future support from his peers, from his constituents, and from the woman in whom he is interested (the daughter of the Appropriations Committee chairman), McClean struggles to gather opposition to a bill he knows is wrong. Is a young man’s idealism any match for the accepted way of doing business? Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1933, Both Your Houses planted the seeds for such standards of the 1930’s as Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and The Front Page.

Performances Thursday through Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Please see their website for details.
